I have always been fascinated by gemstones and their mysterious powers. I had always hoped to someday write a poem on them. So here is one!
Each one I see!
Each one I see!
And wonder about the people I see;
Each one wears a resplendent necklaceThat shines through them at me!
Some wear a diamond, pure and true,
Some, a ruby, brimming with virtue,I spot an amethyst, reflecting royal dignity
Oh! There’s the sapphire, radiating positivity!
Passion and insight emanate from someone’s pearl
Adventure and courage, from a gleaming coral,
The turquoise, yielding strength and security,
Matched evenly by the emerald, healing mind and body!
Some wear a topaz, cool and calm,
Some, an amber, exuding magical charm,
A sparkling garnet’s energy, catches my mesmerised eyes,
As the mystical opal, wears a different look each time!
The jade spreads luck and love,
Silent, peaceful and sereneAs do crystals of common quartz,
Spiritually awakening through devotion unseen!
Each one I see,
Wears one or more of these invisible jewels;Cheerful yet oblivious,
To the powerful energies they dispel!
There’s so much light around,
I’m blinded yet empowered,For each one I see,
Has something I should acquire!
And someday perhaps,
I’ll be one with the crowd;Wearing my own glittering necklace
Spreading light all around!
The more I thought about gems, the more I realised each person around us is one – unique and precious, one unlike another - giving off some or the other form of energy. What better way to express the beauty of gems by observing their characteristics in people around us!
I am sure all of you have encountered a variety of gems in your life……Why not use this as an opportunity to remember all of them and associate them with the gem they represent!
Do think about it and catalog your thoughts in the comments section below – it could be a person you associate with a gem, or a gem you associate with a quality or anything that gems remind you of (except smarties and nestle of childhood days which I still enjoy by the way!!)
I really enjoyed writing this! Hope you enjoyed reading it as much!
Till next time, from slo, it's tally-ho!
