It's that time of the year once again,
when the calendars are changed;
An excuse to attempt lifestyle changes,
Resolutions to be maintained!
A whole new year of opportunities,
glittering and gleaming like the sun;
New hopes, dreams, goals and ambitions,
A year of chances to be taken!
A chance to mend walls,
of homes, relationships and issues;
To give away or discard the things you don't need,
Anger, despair and grudges; clothes, bags or shoes!
A chance to find a new friend,
A chance to renew ties with an old;
A chance to clean and polish,
Something rusty or covered with mould!
An opportunity to grow a little more,
To try a little harder, to learn something new;
And opportunity to share your knowledge,
With those around you!
A year full of surprises everyday,
Bringing in its fold,
A bunch of new blessings,
As much as your heart can hold!
Let's ring in 2020 with the brightest of smiles,
Choose to be happy, contented and kind;
Be a little better and wiser every day,
Feed love to the body and soul; and positivity to the mind!
Leave the sad and the bad behind,
Open your arms to embrace,
All that the new year has to give,
As we usher in a whole new decade!
As I said on an earlier blog post, the week between Christmas and New Year is always a deeply motivating and positive time of the year for me. I look forward to the new year and new decade with shining eyes and an open mind hoping that I can accept graciously all that life has to offer and make the most of what I have and get!
