Pensive moments, powerful moments!

Thoughts come, thoughts go,
Endless like waves on a sea shore;
Bubbling and foaming with might and vigour,
Calmly withering as they get closer;
No beginning, no end,
Always with some signal to send;
Sometimes a smile, sometimes a tear,
There’s no guessing which way they meander!

She feels the gentle wind in her hair,
The warmth of sunshine, behind clouds, ensnared;
Morning cuppa in hand,
By the windowsill she stands;
Million thoughts in her mind,
Entangling and playing, yet her face shows no sign;
She follows not the train of thought,
In which she was subconsciously lost!

He starts his car, after a tiring day,
Runs into traffic, while midway;
His mind wanders, vivid and bold,
Scenes from his life, before his eyes unfold;
The past that was or might have been,
The future that could be, that remains to be seen;
Unknown to himself, he thinks and believes,
Until the blaring horns snap him out of reverie!

Fleeting moments such as these,
On days as normal as could be;
Brief yet profound,
Deeply they resound;
For something within, is instantly awakened,
To an unknown possibility, waiting to happen;
Suddenly there is a change, of character or intent,
Magical as it may seem, all it took was a powerful moment!
And one such powerful moment is what it took - to make me get back to this blog! Its been "long" to say the least. My friend nailed it when he said, "The last thing you blogged about was doomsday. You know it didn't happen right?? Then why did it happen to your blog?!"
Yes, I was busy. No, I didn't stop writing. Yes, I stopped blogging everything I wrote. No, that wasn't unintentional! Yes, I am back! No, I am not promising to put up a-post-a-day or any of that naivete nonsense because I know I'll slink back to a hiatus. So yes, I will blog and hopefully more often. But no, that is not a commitment!
Coming back, I am a firm believer in the saying that life is not simply made up of a series of moments but it is certain moments that really make up life. The more I think of it, the more I am convinced that my entire life can be defined by a few hundred moments that have made me the person I am and I can say with some degree of conviction that it is the same with a lot of other people I know (maybe those I don't as well)! This poem is simply an attempt at paying a tribute to those defining moments in my life!
Cheers!
Till next time, from slo, its tally-ho!

Is tomorrow "It"???!

So tomorrow is supposedly the day that the world is going to end.  Amidst all the discussions (mostly mocking the event-that-is-to-be!), I thought it only apt to list out some of the very few things (off the top of my head) that remains to be seen/done/achieved. And should the end really be tomorrow, then they shall forever remain just visions, hopes and dreams!

But just a random thought here – Of course there are things that are yet to be. But if the world ended not tomorrow but ten years down the line (or even a hundred), there would still be things that would be yet to be!!! Wouldn’t there???!!!!!!!

There are so many things that are yet to be!

There is no knowing, what the future holds;
The past is full of stories, tomorrow is untold;
But if, as they say, the end is indeed near;
Then there is reason to now ponder;
For all the years that the earth has seen;
There are so many things that are yet to be!

Life on the moon and finding new stars,
Maybe even settling a community on Mars;
Trivialising distance, nothing too far;
Revolutionising travel, making faster cars;
Discovering and innovating, through science and insight;
Is there time enough so these visions see light?!

A world that’s free from barriers of colour and race;
Where the poor and weak don’t have to hide their face;
Where power lies not in money or might or lineage;
Where merit is rewarded, not exploited and savaged;
A world of happy people, a world of caring hearts;
For a world as old as ours, is that too much to ask?

There are stories waiting to be told, battles waiting to be won;
Much has been planned and said, that’s waiting to be done;
Mysteries unsolved, damages uncared,
Scars and wounds, open and bare
Who’s to answer, who’s to repair?
Is there time enough to heal all that’s there?

Till next time (and hopefully soon!), from slo, it's tally-ho :)

Sands of Time!

At long last, a revival to the blog with a small poem on the most elusive resource of all time - TIME! After all, isn't it what all of us crib about some way or the other - "Why is my 'time' so bad?!!", "When will this misery end?", "Why can't this moment continue forever!", "Oh those lovely days.....what amazing times....will they ever come back??!!", so on and so forth.......Maybe.....just maybe.....the answers to those questions are here in this poem!! Sit back and dwell on it.........and don't forget to tell me what you feel!!!!!
Sands of Time...... Watch the golden sand, glittering in the daylight;
Granular little crystals, being blown away by the wind's might.
Some onto another patch, as near or far as can be;
Some into the sea, to be deposited on another beach!
Day after day, the sands drift and fly,
In due course, travelling far and wide;
Sometimes by day, sometimes by night,
In stormy cyclones or in breezy delight!
Soon enough, another gust blows mercilessly by,
And the poor molecule finds itself back in time;
Where it earlier passively lay,
Waiting for the wind to blow it away!
Seconds fly, minutes roll by, before we know it, day melts into night.
Events of the day are absolved, yet some moments get etched into the mind!
Good days and bad, merry moments and sad, all come around to a converging point;
Before we know it, life comes a full circle, and the journey seems to have been, after all, a joyous ride!

Till next time, from slo it's tally-ho!
