New mom vibes - Day 3 of 30 - #30daysblogmarathon

'What is it like being a new mom?' or some version of this question is something I often get asked nowadays. Obviously!

It would be remiss of me to do a blog marathon and not seize the opportunity to pen my thoughts on this.

So here are some of the things I can equate being a new mom to! Being a new mom is :

1. waiting 9 months to open a lifetime of surprises!
2. taking your fully normal and routine life and putting it through the kitchen blender to blitz it all up!
3. making grand plans on how you'll spend the maternity leave only to find that it's basically a breastfeeding vacation and that there'll be little else you'll be able to do besides being caught in a never-ending feed-sleep-change-repeat cycle!
4. having newfound respect for the kangaroo!
5. making you appreciate clocks all over again because without them, day and night seem all the same!
6. being given a 5000 piece puzzle set without the reference image or being gifted the latest technology gadget without the instruction manual!
7. making everything you ever knew about babies seem like a screen saver!
8. behaving like the circus clown to elicit just one teeny weeny smile from your baby!
9. upgrading your patience levels from zero to Zen!
10. learning to differentiate between the different types of your baby's cries - food, sleep, pee/poo, boredom, too hot/cold, wants to be cuddled, just doesn't want to be put down!
11. celebrating the little little developments of your baby with grand joy (Oh! My baby made spit bubbles today! He's growing up!)
12. getting a PhD in the colour-consistency chart of baby poo!
13. unabashedly obsessing over your baby's cuteness!
14. obsessing over his growth (I hope his weight is okay; oh his cheeks seem a little less chubby today!)
15. learning to plan your entire day in two-hour slots!
16. waiting till your baby sleeps to do what you want and then end up spending the entire time he is asleep worrying that he will wake up so not getting anything done anyway!
17. convincing yourself that your baby has finally settled into a routine only to be fooled!
18. making watching your baby sleep seem like a perfectly legit and productive activity for the sheer joy it brings!
19. pursuing insane levels of creativity in devising new ways to keep your baby engaged!
20. learning that no matter how much you read or how much you rely on other people's experiences, your journey with your baby is unique!
21. feeling your heart skip a beat when he snuggles close to you in his sleep!
22. feeling jubilant when he throws his arms at you choosing you to carry him from among everyone else in the room!
23. feeling proud when you can make him stop crying when others have failed!
24. looking back on life before the baby and despite all its allure, realising that you would choose the baby every single time!
25. learning that having a baby is a gift that keeps giving!

Expect more posts on my journey through mommyhood throughout this #30daysblogmarathon!

My take on 'photographing etiquette' (if there's such a thing!) - Day 2 of 30 - #30daysblogmarathon

A lot of people have chided me for my idiosyncrasies when it comes to being photographed so I thought this would be a good time to put my thoughts out there.

Here's what I think would be safe to call my '101 on photographing etiquette'!

1. If you take my pic, share it with me! This applies to pics of my son and my husband as well! Also, this applies to photographs taken with or without my knowledge (also see point no. 5).

2.  When sharing it with me, preferably share it with me personally and not on a larger group or forum. Please allow me the privilege of deciding whether I want people to see that pic of mine or not! Of course this only applies to my individual or family photos and not to pics in which I am in a group.

3. Do share the pics you take (of me) with me promptly and don't make me beg for it!

4. Don't send my pics to other people without my permission. Also, don't post my pics on social media without asking me or, at the very least, letting me know! Basically, just send them to me and let me decide for myself!! I'd like to have the joy of sending it to people I care about and knowing their reactions!

5. As far as possible, please don't take photos of me or my baby without my knowledge! This is particularly applicable if I'm shabbily dressed, as I often am!

6. Please do not keep my pics as your FB or whatsapp display pic without checking with me first! This particularly applies to pics of my baby! Side note - I've never understood why people think it is ok to keep other people's photographs as their display pic.....without their permission.

7. If you have taken 10 photos of me all in the same pose (as we normally do nowadays), please be nice and share all of them and not just the best one! In fact, I would particularly want a copy of my worst photos so that no one can use them against me!! Basically, what i would really like is that others don't have a photo of me in their records that i don't have myself!

8. Again, if you are photographing an event in my life (eg: my anniversary, birthday or an occasion at my place),  please be sure to share the entire set of pics with me and not just my photos! They are my memories, after all!

9. I am a very private person and anyone who knows me knows how reticent and passive I am on social media. So, please be courteous and do not post my pics on social media without my consent!

10. If you ask, I will gladly pose for you :)

Rest assured that I follow all of the above unfailingly so if I ever take your pic, I will send it you immediately!! I usually promptly share pics with all those who are present in the photo and sometimes with those who were present around at the moment they pic was taken but couldn't be in the pic itself. Sounds fair, right?

To clarify, this is not a rant post - I've often thought extensively about the lack of photographic discretion ever since digital photography took over the traditional film photography. I always felt that with limited space on the digital film, we always rationed our photos and had to wait until much later to see the outcome of our camerawork. We only shared some of the pics with people we chose and that too, after paying for additional copies! Keeping with those principles, I feel giving people the space and discretion regarding their photographs is important.

Let me know what you feel in the comments!

P.S. general note - throughout this post, I've referred to "my" pics which also cover my family's! Similarly, pic or photograph used loosely throughout this post also includes video and/or audio files of 'me'!

Also - I've finally added a subscription box to my blog . It's on the upper right. Do enter your email id and subscribe so that you receive my daily posts directly to your email (for the next 29 days at least!)

Seeking out ideas for my blog - Day 1 of 30 - #30daysblogmarathon

It's amazing how life can pass you by sometimes, when you're busy focusing elsewhere!

In the last 5 years, somewhere between moving home, losing a loved one, working my socks off, travelling to new places and more recently, having a baby, blogging did not just take the backseat, it walked straight out of the car!! And I had to look and look and look to find inspiration again.

And just like that, it's been nearly 5 years to my last post on this blog. I can only hope it's the longest hiatus - it's a not a record I'm looking to break!

The biggest predicament in a challenge such as this #30daysblogmarathon that I have set myself is coming up with something interesting to write about everyday - to be precise, something that not just I find interesting but is likely to interest most people! So here's my request to those of you who are reading this - if you can think of something that I can write about, do drop your suggestions in the comments or text me directly!

Ta-da!

The hibernation ends!

So, it's 9 days shy of 5 years since I last blogged....my longest writers' block and consequent hibernation ever.

Has it ended? I hope so! I'm trying now...

What inspired me? This idea by @Preeti.Shenoy who I really enjoy reading! (Edit : seems the insta post has been subsequently deleted by the author.... basically, she announced that she is doing a 30 days blog marathon which sparked off inspiration in me!)

Following in her footsteps, I am going to make a humble effort to post something everyday for the next month. 5 words or 500, I don't know yet, but it will be better than nothing!!

I hope I can keep up this project I've set myself and if you're reading this, feel free to send me a nudge if you do not see something from me before end of the day!

There is so much to be thankful for!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! The most 'giving' time of the year and also the time to reflect on all the loveliness in our lives!

It is indeed a wonder how much there really is to be thankful for! The miracle called 'Life' is nothing but a series of things and people coming together at various times for reasons that unfold themselves as the days (or years!) pass!

So here is my last post for 2014....what better way to wrap up the year!

There is so much to be thankful for!

I bring my palms together,
And gently close my eyes;
I think of all my blessings,
And try to visualise;
The beauties and bounties bestowed,
The people in my life;
The wonder of an unknown tomorrow,
And the yesterdays I have survived!

Every new sunrise,
A brand new opportunity to bloom;
And every velvety night,
Brings promise anew;
Of yet another dawn,
An opportunity to undo;
Some of the mistakes made,
And mend some open wounds.

A family so pure and accepting,
Full of love and care;
And friends like shining stars,
People who’ll always ‘be there’;
Ones with whom memories are made,
And good and bad times shared;
My little world within the world,
Treasure like none can compare!

The miracle of ‘Time’,
Such an enigma indeed;
The way it mysteriously unfolds,
And the way it teaches and heals;
The way minutes seem like hours,
When awaiting something dear;
And the past seems like a dream,
With the years melting in together!

And most of all, the power,
That each of us holds within;
The power to think and feel,
To believe, to love and to win;
Not trophies or medals of gold,
But the hearts of the young and old;
The power to make a difference,
To the world that we call our own!

There’s so much to be thankful for,
So much to bring joy,
All the gifts in my life,
That money cannot buy;
There’s so much to be thankful for,
Close your eyes and see;
Look deep inside your heart,
For that’s where it will be!

Wishing everyone lots of happiness, peace, joy and love in the New Year 2015! May all your dreams come true. And most importantly, may you find lots more to be thankful for! :)

Love and luck,
slo

Finding the Secret Key!!

Helloooo after a long long time!! The last time I wrote was about gems and how each one of us is a gem waiting to sparkle and shine. This time, it's about finding the trigger that makes us click with some people more than others!

I had written this poem a long long time back and was pleasantly surprised to find it in the 'drafts' folder of my mailbox earlier this week when incidentally, I happened to be thinking about something very similar! Such is life :)

Finding the Secret Key!

In all the world, so wide and big;
Millions of people, different and unique
Each living their own story;
Puzzles to unlock, with a secret key.

Likes and dislikes, choices and preferences,
Styles and attitudes, habits and differences,
Myriad factors at perennial play,
Connecting people in a special way.

So many people in our lives,
It sure is then, no surprise,
That each of them gives different vibes
On a different strength, each relationship thrives.

Some are shy and always quiet,
While others like to talk and chat,
Some love sports, some love to laze,
Some love art or harbour some other craze.

Some believe in holding back, some love to let go,
Some need inspiration or advice, some just need company when bored,
Some are gung-ho, others may be recluse,
While some just go with the flow and often have no clue!

With some, we connect instantly,
With some, it takes a lifetime;
With some, we connect but there's an invisible wall,
With some others, we connect not at all!

So what is it that makes people click?
How is it that some relations stick?
Why do we love some people so?
Is it simply providence or something more?

The secret lies in knowing,
What makes people's hearts flutter;
It's all about discovering,
The little things that matter.

Of course, people are different,
That is how they are meant to be.
It's up to us to bridge the differences,
To find that elusive secret key!

Have fun everyone! And keep looking for the secret key to every person you meet!

Till next time, from slo, it's tally-ho!!! :) :)

Real life gems!

I have always been fascinated by gemstones and their mysterious powers. I had always hoped to someday write a poem on them. So here is one!

Each one I see!

I look around the world I live in,
And wonder about the people I see;
Each one wears a resplendent necklace
That shines through them at me!

Some wear a diamond, pure and true,
Some, a ruby, brimming with virtue,
I spot an amethyst, reflecting royal dignity
Oh! There’s the sapphire, radiating positivity!

Passion and insight emanate from someone’s pearl
Adventure and courage, from a gleaming coral,
The turquoise, yielding strength and security,
Matched evenly by the emerald, healing mind and body!

Some wear a topaz, cool and calm,
Some, an amber, exuding magical charm,
A sparkling garnet’s energy, catches my mesmerised eyes,
As the mystical opal, wears a different look each time!

The jade spreads luck and love,
Silent, peaceful and serene
As do crystals of common quartz,
Spiritually awakening through devotion unseen!

Each one I see,
Wears one or more of these invisible jewels;
Cheerful yet oblivious,
To the powerful energies they dispel!

There’s so much light around,
I’m blinded yet empowered,
For each one I see,
Has something I should acquire!

And someday perhaps,
I’ll be one with the crowd;
Wearing my own glittering necklace
Spreading light all around!

The more I thought about gems, the more I realised each person around us is one – unique and precious, one unlike another - giving off some or the other form of energy. What better way to express the beauty of gems by observing their characteristics in people around us!

I am sure all of you have encountered a variety of gems in your life……Why not use this as an opportunity to remember all of them and associate them with the gem they represent!

Do think about it and catalog your thoughts in the comments section below – it could be a person you associate with a gem, or a gem you associate with a quality or anything that gems remind you of (except smarties and nestle of childhood days which I still enjoy by the way!!)

I really enjoyed writing this! Hope you enjoyed reading it as much!

Till next time, from slo, it's tally-ho!

Pensive moments, powerful moments!

Thoughts come, thoughts go,
Endless like waves on a sea shore;
Bubbling and foaming with might and vigour,
Calmly withering as they get closer;
No beginning, no end,
Always with some signal to send;
Sometimes a smile, sometimes a tear,
There’s no guessing which way they meander!

She feels the gentle wind in her hair,
The warmth of sunshine, behind clouds, ensnared;
Morning cuppa in hand,
By the windowsill she stands;
Million thoughts in her mind,
Entangling and playing, yet her face shows no sign;
She follows not the train of thought,
In which she was subconsciously lost!

He starts his car, after a tiring day,
Runs into traffic, while midway;
His mind wanders, vivid and bold,
Scenes from his life, before his eyes unfold;
The past that was or might have been,
The future that could be, that remains to be seen;
Unknown to himself, he thinks and believes,
Until the blaring horns snap him out of reverie!

Fleeting moments such as these,
On days as normal as could be;
Brief yet profound,
Deeply they resound;
For something within, is instantly awakened,
To an unknown possibility, waiting to happen;
Suddenly there is a change, of character or intent,
Magical as it may seem, all it took was a powerful moment!
And one such powerful moment is what it took - to make me get back to this blog! Its been "long" to say the least. My friend nailed it when he said, "The last thing you blogged about was doomsday. You know it didn't happen right?? Then why did it happen to your blog?!"
Yes, I was busy. No, I didn't stop writing. Yes, I stopped blogging everything I wrote. No, that wasn't unintentional! Yes, I am back! No, I am not promising to put up a-post-a-day or any of that naivete nonsense because I know I'll slink back to a hiatus. So yes, I will blog and hopefully more often. But no, that is not a commitment!
Coming back, I am a firm believer in the saying that life is not simply made up of a series of moments but it is certain moments that really make up life. The more I think of it, the more I am convinced that my entire life can be defined by a few hundred moments that have made me the person I am and I can say with some degree of conviction that it is the same with a lot of other people I know (maybe those I don't as well)! This poem is simply an attempt at paying a tribute to those defining moments in my life!
Cheers!
Till next time, from slo, its tally-ho!

Is tomorrow "It"???!

So tomorrow is supposedly the day that the world is going to end.  Amidst all the discussions (mostly mocking the event-that-is-to-be!), I thought it only apt to list out some of the very few things (off the top of my head) that remains to be seen/done/achieved. And should the end really be tomorrow, then they shall forever remain just visions, hopes and dreams!

But just a random thought here – Of course there are things that are yet to be. But if the world ended not tomorrow but ten years down the line (or even a hundred), there would still be things that would be yet to be!!! Wouldn’t there???!!!!!!!

There are so many things that are yet to be!

There is no knowing, what the future holds;
The past is full of stories, tomorrow is untold;
But if, as they say, the end is indeed near;
Then there is reason to now ponder;
For all the years that the earth has seen;
There are so many things that are yet to be!

Life on the moon and finding new stars,
Maybe even settling a community on Mars;
Trivialising distance, nothing too far;
Revolutionising travel, making faster cars;
Discovering and innovating, through science and insight;
Is there time enough so these visions see light?!

A world that’s free from barriers of colour and race;
Where the poor and weak don’t have to hide their face;
Where power lies not in money or might or lineage;
Where merit is rewarded, not exploited and savaged;
A world of happy people, a world of caring hearts;
For a world as old as ours, is that too much to ask?

There are stories waiting to be told, battles waiting to be won;
Much has been planned and said, that’s waiting to be done;
Mysteries unsolved, damages uncared,
Scars and wounds, open and bare
Who’s to answer, who’s to repair?
Is there time enough to heal all that’s there?

Till next time (and hopefully soon!), from slo, it's tally-ho :)

Life's like that :)

Back after a hiatus with a poem on my favourite subject of all time - LIFE!!

Life's like that!!!

A winding road or an uphill climb;
Obstacles or surprises, known or blind;
Grass or rocks, soft or stony,
Life's like that, an adventurous journey!

Crests and troughs, ripples and waves;
Highs and lows, nights and days;
Wings and shackles, joys and troubles;
Life's like that, a complete circle!

Plus or minus, debit or credit;
Right or wrong, money or merit;
Here or there, right or left;
Life's like that, a constant test!

Hit or miss, win or loss;
Gathering speed or gathering moss;
Race or goal, game or catch;
Life's like that, a funfilled match!

Avenues and landscapes, paths and caves;
People and creatures, emotions and palates;
Logic and magic, real and reverie;
Life's like that, a voyage of discovery!

Yesterdays and tomorrows, wishes and hopes;
Fear and delight, anticipation and remorse;
Memories and visions, plans and schemes;
Life's like that, an ongoing dream!

Sugar or mint, pepper or salt
Spices and condiments, sweet and hot;
Dry curry or bubbling merry
Life's like that, a fragrant potpourri!

An adventurous journey, a circle complete;
A constant test or a funfilled match;
A voyage of discovery, an ongoing dream;
Life's a potpourri of all of these!!!

So much for now. Till next time, from slo, it's tally-ho!! :) :)

Happiness :)

If you saw the heading and thought I was giving you the secret recipe.....Apologies for the misnomer! But maybe....just maybe.....I might be close to it! You read and decide :)

Happiness :)

You wait and wait with tired eyes,
Braving sleep and hostile times;
And out of the blue, the tables turn,
After the dark, comes a beautiful sunrise!
Happiness complete, true and sublime! :)

You search here and there, till no crevice is spared;
Done all you can, tried all you might;
And just when you've given up looking,
That precious something appears in sight!
Happiness complete, true and sublime! :)

You struggle through the course of life,
Single dream, goal in sight;
Failure after failure, but you continue to strive,
Till one day, achievement arrives to surprise!
Happiness complete, true and sublime! :)

Far away from familiar shores,
Now embarked on a journey alone,
Memories reminiscent of good old times,
Crowd together to solace provide!
Happiness complete, true and sublime! :)

No matter how hard you look,
It's something you're unlikely to find;
For elusive is that butterfly,
That wipes tears and brings smiles!
So live your life today and live it king size,
Don't search for happiness, do not weep or cry;
For eventually you shall realise,
It was all along in your mind!
Happiness complete, true and sublime! :)

Till next time, from Slo, it's tally-ho :)

Sparkles and Crackers, Sweets and Savouries - Happy Diwali!

The secret to dispelling any darkness in life lies in lighting a lamp and spreading a smile!

'Diwali' or 'Deepawali' is here again - the occasion that epitomises this universal truth, the festival of glory, goodwill and cheer, a time of celebrations galore!

Greetings!

Auspicious beginnings, a new start,
Time to take stock, time to raise the bar;
To sparkle like the fireworks - the fuljhadi and anaar,
To rise high like them and reach for the stars!

It's a time to share and to give,
Sweets and savouries, donations and gifts;
To spread smiles and brighten lives,
To create moments to cherish and relive!

This glittering festival of lights heralds prosperity,
Upholds the power of 'good' - to lend a tinge of spirituality;
So bring out the mithai and ring in the festivities,
Its time to wish everyone a Happy, Sparkling and Safe Deepawali!

Till next time, from slo it's tally-ho!

An ode to a Beautiful Woman!

She spread a smile everywhere she went,
And touched the life of everyone she met;

Her heart was a bottomless valley of love,
Of kindness and affection, she was a treasure trove;

She led by example, and with grit,
Made a difference with everything she did;

She never shared her pain, nor her troubles,
She fought her darkest battle, without a grumble;

And today she's here no more, but her memory lives on;
She has left us in person but will never really be gone.

Amen

Some people are in our life for a seemingly short while. But they land up teaching us some of life's greatest lessons.

Sometimes we begin to realise that people who are taken away from us too soon, are probably taken away because God loves them too!

There are people.....and then...there are PEOPLE!

This poem is dedicated to 'someone' who once told me a line, probably in a different context -a line that has since stayed with me forever........the line is the title of this poem and this post!

There are people.....and then....there are PEOPLE!

They come into our life like warm sun rays,
They change our life in unexpected ways;
They bring a gleam of magic, a fragrance that stays,
Light up our life and brighten up our days!

Some come early, some come late,
Some change us, some themselves change;
Some stay forever, a part of life innate,
Some detach mid-way, but timeless memories create!

Every thought of them brings a smile to the face,
The knowledge of their being, brings comfort and solace;
Their care and understanding serve as a mainstay,
Of a precious relationship, that may or may not have a name!

Truly, some people are special beyond compare,
They are one in a million, unique and rare;
Some are for a moment, some are for a life,
But each one of us has our bunch, making life worthwhile!

Hope, Will and maybe something more :)

You can read this and decide whether it is poetry or prose;
I'd like to believe it's a mix of both!!!

Without beating around the bush, here's a poem I didn't compose intentionally......I just started it and then it completed itself......words just flowing one after the other.

I racked my brains for a possible title and finally landed up with this one - sometimes creative juices dry up you know!!! So here's an assigment for loyal readers of my blog - looking forward to alternative titles that could have probably summed up this poem. For now...the poem itself!
The Strength of Hope; The Might of Will……..
He was all geared up, charged like never before,
Braced his mind for the race, till he heard the whistle blow;
His feet lifted off the ground, sprinting towards the finish line,
And then he fell, his hopes dispelled, kinked his vision sublime.

He lay motionless on the ground, eyes brimming with tears,
As he watched his contemporaries racing ahead, his bleeding legs seared;
He opened his eyes to a sterile smell, surrounded by those he loved,
The cruel turn of fate, heavy on his mind, his heart with pain engulfed.

He put on a brave face and a phony smile, trying to appear proper and prim,
But the worst was yet to come, he knew not what had befallen him,
As he rose, he felt the pain shoot, where his legs had once been;
The tears just flowed, he was stumped, shuddered at what he had just seen.

He looked into the eyes of those who dismally stood,
Wanting to help, not knowing how, praying all they could.
He looked up to the sky, one question in his searing head,
'After all, Why?', was all he could ask but he chose silence instead.

Days passed, months elapsed, he was now confined to a wheelchair,
Here was the man who'd seen the Olympic dream, now doomed in despair.
More than a year had passed, since the event that blackened his life,
At last there came a morning, that brought him a gleam of light.

Prosthetics was the saviour, that would soon bring back his freedom to move,
But more importantly, his hopes were enlivened; his misery finally doomed!
Things happened fast, he was wheeled briskly in, the surgery lasted long;
But when he returned, he'd got his legs back, he felt truly re-born!

A massive struggle now gaped at him, the fight to once again run,
He found himself learning how to walk, and knew the journey had just begun;
But now his hopes were on a new high, he knew his moment had finally come,
For he'd just won a lost race, the tables had once again turned!

The big day arrived, the day for which he'd toiled so hard,
Learnt to walk, and then to run, and then to run fast!
He was all geared up, charged like never before
To make this race count, to make it one victory more!

He walked over to the podium, to collect his Gold,
His victory had all the makings of a story untold;
Hope gave him the strength, his will steeled his core,
The Olympic dream was finally a dream no more!!

Till next time, as always - from slo, it's tally-ho :)

Sands of Time!

At long last, a revival to the blog with a small poem on the most elusive resource of all time - TIME! After all, isn't it what all of us crib about some way or the other - "Why is my 'time' so bad?!!", "When will this misery end?", "Why can't this moment continue forever!", "Oh those lovely days.....what amazing times....will they ever come back??!!", so on and so forth.......Maybe.....just maybe.....the answers to those questions are here in this poem!! Sit back and dwell on it.........and don't forget to tell me what you feel!!!!!
Sands of Time...... Watch the golden sand, glittering in the daylight;
Granular little crystals, being blown away by the wind's might.
Some onto another patch, as near or far as can be;
Some into the sea, to be deposited on another beach!
Day after day, the sands drift and fly,
In due course, travelling far and wide;
Sometimes by day, sometimes by night,
In stormy cyclones or in breezy delight!
Soon enough, another gust blows mercilessly by,
And the poor molecule finds itself back in time;
Where it earlier passively lay,
Waiting for the wind to blow it away!
Seconds fly, minutes roll by, before we know it, day melts into night.
Events of the day are absolved, yet some moments get etched into the mind!
Good days and bad, merry moments and sad, all come around to a converging point;
Before we know it, life comes a full circle, and the journey seems to have been, after all, a joyous ride!

Till next time, from slo it's tally-ho!

Fear of the Unknown...

An infant's insolence to danger,
Characterised by his aimless sprint;
Ignorant of pain, trauma and defeat,
He flings caution to the wind!

As he falls, as he bleeds,
He feels the pain, raw and deep;
And as he is caught in the clutches of defeat,
His senses tremble, his heart turns meek.

As he grows, memories of the suffering linger,
They cloud his mind and he avers danger;
He presupposes trouble, generates negative vibes,
And foolishly fails, even before he tries!

This fear of the unknown cripples most of us,
In spite of our innumerable strengths, this fear makes us weak;
As, unfortunately, we fail to realise that,
The cave we fear to enter holds the treasures we seek!

F.E.A.R.
- a four-letter word that stands for an emotion we all experience at some point in life. Fear of heights, fear of water, fear of flying, fear of closed spaces, fear of reptiles, fear of death, fear of new people and places……so many different kinds of fears, each given a name of its own….Acrophobia, Hydrophobia, Aerophobia, Claustrophobia, so on and so forth.

All these fears/phobias have their roots in our head. And each of us is enslaved by our fears. Till we learn to overcome them that is!

I am sure there is something that all of us are afraid of. But there is a common thread that binds most fears. It is – the fear of the unknown. (Or in some cases, fear stemming from one bad experience) How many of us have feared trying, feared defeat, feared loss, feared pain and hence lost opportunities or worse still, our confidence?

While I’m no psychologist who can rid you of your fears (I have fears of my own to deal with!), yet I can say this much from experience – YOUR FEAR CAN LIMIT YOU ONLY TILL YOU TRY! (Golden words from self anointed Saint Sloka!!!!!!)

Till next time from Slo, its Tally-ho!
